Garlic and onions are members of the allium genus, part of the same family as lilies and other flowering bulbs. We grow several varieties of onion and garlic on the farm.

Garlic Scapes
An early cutting from garlic plants causes larger bulbs to develop. Garlic scapes have a very mild, garlicky flavor. They're great in stir fries or fresh spring pestos.

Redwing Onion
A dense, round red onion, well suited to long storage. Try adding a sprinkle of raw red onion over soups, vegetable and bean salads, or sandwiches for a crisp punch of oniony heat.

Ross Lunga di Tropea Onion
A mild Italian variety, this is a sweet, red, torpedo-shaped onion that matures in the late summer. Use as you would a red onion or shallot. It's good for cooking with as well.

Spring Onion
In the spring, we thin the onion beds in order to get bigger, more developed onions later in the season. These early onions are mild and can be used much like scallions. Chop and toss them over a finished stir-fry, garnish a soup, or add to salads.

Yellow Onion
We grow a couple varieties of yellow onion, including Prince Onion and New York Early. These varieties are good storage onions and, if kept properly, can last into early spring.
